Insomnia

Thoughts are pounding an equilibrium for release into a twilight morning.

Cursed be I to keep them in mourning
For echoing times long forsaken
And midnight joys once so proudly taken
I rest never shutting my lids
Chances of fantasy never showing bids
Transcendance? Meditation? Which of these
Blocks me from apothecary's sweetened dreams?

I'll murder my one hand to keep tattoing at bay
Just for (if one minute) to kiss this world away
Bring down a curtain to call mine own
and shelter me deep from whence my mind will roam

There is a purple blue-bird that sits singing
(in my realized perception; dreaming)
Surrounded by a fish hurrying past on a mission
(I'd like to wake up now with your permission)
Alas, "a foolish boy," said he, "to walk with bare feet where you cannot see."
(Sir, the ground holds no razors to me.  Perhaps not as foolish as he)
"Slay me with your rock and where me round yon neck"
(Fish of albatross; Ancient Mariner round no neck)

A greasy splash left a taste of alkaline
Tell me this insomnia insanity is not a sign
This bird flew the room and left the coop
You see, lack of sleep has made my(and his)mind
soup.

Is this really that far out?  I've been in a wierd mood lately

I liked it a lot. It reminds me of my own writing technique...and, once again, self-congratulatory yap ensues. Love the writing.

Your style lately has completely rocked the house! I love it!
"Alas, "a foolish boy," said he, "to walk with bare feet where you cannot see."
(Sir, the ground holds no razors to me.  Perhaps not as foolish as he)"

I love that part! Well done!

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily
