Hey. This is a poem I just got done writing, about how the nice guy is always the one who's last. I have always been the nice guy... The one everybody goes to for advice, the guy who understands... And it is all cool, but it can suck sometimes... Anywho, let me know what ya'll think. The lines vary a lot in their length, which is the one thing that really sticks out at me that I could try to fix. Anyway, let me know!

NICE GUYS FINISH LAST

I don't have the greatest looks
I'm not always the social type
I don't know much about dating
Yes, sometimes I complain and gripe

But I know how a girl should be treated
I'm certainly not a perverted jerk
I'm not picky about how you look
But you don't think a relationship will work

I would make a great companion
Can I please just ask why
What's wrong with falling in love
With a nice guy?

Why do the nice guys
Have to finish last?
Why is world so materialistic
A guy like me you'll walk right past

I'll be here for you
Through tears and sad
I'm by your side
Through happy and glad

I'm always the one you go to
When something's wrong
Why can't I be the one
To dance to your song

i like what u were trying to get at...but the flow wasnt "to be honest" working for me...other then that i liked and enjoyed the read...hope to see more...

I can SOOO relate to that poem. I really like. Like you said, the line lengths varied, but otherwise, it was really good

In my personal experience....women complain about how they want a sensitive man, a caring man, a man who knows how to treat a lady....but they also want a HOT man....and when they stumble upon a nice guy....he'll be their friend....that's why you get the whole friend bit....that's why we suck..yep...nice suck....we are trapped in between the desire of MORE and the reality of LESS....soon enough we'll have our time.

This is the second one I read from you and I enjoyed this one to. I can relate to what your saying but in the end we will be the ones with a nice wife and a couple of kids and holding a good job. So I guess nice guys really do finish last.

Give her two red roses, each with a note. The first note says "For the woman I love" and the second, "For my best friend."

Your poem was very interesting. Not all the girls go for the blokes with the great looks and who can just slot into any circle. Mind you, there are that bunch who do. I am one of them. So shoot me...

Don't stress over it too much though. Some girls aren't going to know what hit them when you strike up a conversation.

Well sweetie, I think you are wrong.....maybe the girls your age aren't looking for a guy like you, but when you get older, you can bet you'll be the ticket! There are girls out there looking for guys like you.....but they are usually the girl next door type that even guys like you won't give a chance to because they don't look like Pamela Lee......so go figure.....then....be patient

first off let me say that i liked the poem. it expreses some of the downs to being a "nice guy" but those are in my experience due to the fact that most "nice guy" just stand around waiting, like here i am if you need me you come to me. you have to be out there with them doing the things you feel to be right that you like to do, which others dont expect. that way it will let others see who you are a little better then they may change the way they feel about you. I don't know how things are for you, i am speaking from personal experience here so i may be different for you. but hey i thinki rambled on enought here. I think the poem is great though.

It's too bad I'm not as wonderful a person as people say I am, because the world could use a few people like that.

Hmm... Well just as the greenday song said "nice guys finish last," i do beleive thats true. i dont think people give enuf credit to the nice guys who are always there for us, but i dont look for the "hot ones"
they gotta be nice or they ain't worth it!
the lines did vary but overall the message was clear nice guys do finish last

awwwwwwwwwww.....!!..hey cowboy..you know not every girl out there wants a "hottie"...just like not every girl out there wants a guy who only wants to get her into bed..
me...? i would prefer just a talk and laugh and comfort...i dont really care about looks..and thats the truth..haha..
i loved your poem ..i think it's sweet..even though you're expressing the down side to being a nice guy....try talking to more girls..itll take a bit of time before you find the right girl..but hey why not have fun looking?
