her name was Peace
innocent like a child
nothing more then one

she was swept away
stolen in the night
innocese defiled...lost

more pain then she imagined
washing over her in waves
she escapes into a different world

already its to late to resist
shes to weak to fight
she was dead before he started

she was already gone
her mind in a differnt world
she didnt notice when he killed her

he left her there alone
after he was finished with her
beaten and raped...dead

he cleaned up his mess
left no evidence behind
he was never found for justice

she was buried in a peaceful spot
her soul already gone
but her spirit remained to haunt

other half of my heart
i held her close to me
as i blame a faceless ghost

years later i let her go
i finally let her spirit rest
and went on with my life

the flowers are floating
to honour your memory
to give your restless soul...Peace

There wasn't really a particular rhyme scheme that I could find for this one, but I loved it!!  I read it twice, and both times I got the chills at the end.  Very, very, very well done, this is going into my library for sure!  Great work!

powerful writing in this piece, you wrote this beautifully.  the peace in italics was a nice way to tie up the poem at the end, the last stanza was wonderful.  good job on this, keep posting your work.

This is pretty raw stuff. Very sad situation that happened here. I hope it's not real, but if it is then I'm sorry.
Well done though...it really hit me hard.

Jeez, Tiff. This one had such an impact it made me sick to the stomach. Like Dopes said, very raw but then that's what gives Poetry its power. It's also quite a sad piece. For it's effect it had on me, to the library it shall go.
