A tear streamed down her cheek,
As she took one last look around,
And threw her bag in her truck
She knew it was tyme to leave.

She let out a cry when she turned the key
And her old Chevy started to roar
Somehow the sound comforted her
As it always has in the past

No one knew she was leaving
She was running away from pain
She stopped by her boyfriend’s house
To leave a note, to say her goodbye.

She didn’t want to leave him behind
But she felt she had no choice
She had to get away from them
Before it went too far

She knew she’d miss him
But she knew she had to leave
“I love you,” she said aloud
Wishing he could hear her

She wanted to see him
She drove past the school
Hoping he’d be at his car
She sighed when he wasn’t

She wanted to see him
So she snuck into school
And waited by his class
To tell him she loved him

She gave him a hug
And told him she was leaving
She hugged him again
And a tear slid down her cheek

She took his hand
And lead him to her truck
Unlocked the door
And told him to get in

She drove around
Telling him everything
Looking in his eyes
Her heart caved

She saw a tear in his eye
And took his hand
“I love you,” she said
Trying to hold back tears

She slowed the truck
Pulled over to the side
And hugged the one person
That ever understood her

“Come with me” she begged
“We can run away together”
She held onto his hand
And looked into his Hazel eyes

For a moment, his eyes lit up
But then quickly dimmed
He sighed and said
“I’m sorry, but I can’t”

Then her eyes dulled
And filled with tears
As they both held each other
Soaked by their tears

She started her Chevy again
The roar seemed louder
She never let go of his hand
And drove him back to school

They both got out of the truck
And embraced each other again
She just couldn’t leave him behind
“I’ll stay, for you,” she sighed.

you got the face to back it up

Oh wow, that one really really really hit home for me. It reminds me of a certain someone I love and adore, he knows who he is so I won't mention any names *cough*Angel*cough*. This was really good, I praise you.

This is so touching!  I'm sitting here sniffling.  Great expression of emotion.  Not to mention some great Chevy memories; my older brother (now at college) has always had an affinity for antique Chevys.

A little too long Tamma, but still a vry emotional piece.  You're really getting better

Tamma, that was so touching and so incredibly awesome!!!!!!!    Oh my lord! You got me on the verge of tears and my eyeliner's gonna run.  Good job!

I'll agree that it was long...but you know it was quite heartfelt, and you put enormous effort into writing it, I can tell. If it is true to life, you know, sometimes the one we love can save us from huge mistakes. And if it's not...then you have a great imagination and creative flair. Kudos!!
