-THE RACE-
(of life & love)

As life flashes before my eyes,
I reflect upon life with mild surprise.
To think of all that could have been,
And everything I haven't seen.

Of wild lies and sorry thoughts,
Nothing more. I'm left distraught.
A troubled soul, a heavy heart,
I was left behind from the start.

My race is run, and I came last,
I guess I didn't run too fast.
Think of all the wasted days,
That have now all but gone away.

What's the point when no-one cares?
I might look brave but I'm really scared.
Isn't life supposed to be fun?
No like looking at a loaded gun.

Then she came along you see,
And life now makes some sense to me.
I can see the runners up ahead,
And slow but sure, I'll catch them yet...

great job...mr.woodstock..i thought this poem..in the first part was sad...then i really like the last message that turned out postive...good job..and keep writing..

I liked this because it started out sad but ended on an inspiring note. Thats always really motivational and fun 2 read. Good job on this, I liked it alot!

I liked the positive ending. It really shows me that you don't plan on giving up. I wish you luck.
