Seated here this night, within the comforting clasp
Of the cold hand of the stars so far and distant.
I'd trade this moment for nothing in an instant....
To see what it is to be.  It's so hard to grasp.

Those were the clouds just a moment ago; now lights
Flicker in their place, churning, breathing and living.
When I look deeper than science I see living
Testaments to the greatness of a God of lights.

Sanity is a virtue that lives within men
While they are with men... I am not.  I am alone.
Here is the place where I can explore on my own,
The realm where God meets me without being human.

There's the moon with its volcanic rock and basalt.
There's the cold face that stares back at my lonely fears...
Here's the earth, a simple product of nature's years.
Here's the cradle of my life, a land to learn in fault...

"If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh"

Your poetry is getting less military and more spiritual... I'm not sure if I like that personally but hey, we all change as poets.
This was a good poem.  I notice you are experimenting with reuse of words as opposed to rhyming them lately, I personally don't like this technique but over time you might develop it to the point where it impresses even me.
Good work overall.

OK Frac. I am going to have to come back later on and read this for it has just gone way over my head for the time being.

When I go into it a little more, you'll have a better reply from me. What I did catch though was interesting...
