This is a poem I wrote about a girl before I asked her out.  It was the first time I had ever asked somebody out and was very nervous.  I know that the poem doesn't have a very good flow, but I thought I would share it with you all.  My favorite part of the poem is the last two lines, which I have used as a poem in theirself to express my feelings to some people.

"What Do I Say?"

What do I say
If I feel this way
I say whatever I may
But what will I hear?

I'll say how I feel
I'll say what I believe
And sink in the sand
Then I'll leave, kneel,
And pray you understand

I sink in the sand
And I can't walk on water
I don't have supernatural powers
But I can send flowers
And talk for hours and hours

Living from memories
Living from thoughts
There are some things in life
That cannot be taught

Lessons on life
Lessons on love
Can only be explained one way:
They come from above

I liked it.....thought it was sweet.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

Nice, asking someone out is never easy the first time.  (apparently)
Good job on this poem, and about using the last lines as a way to explain to people, I'd advise you to be careful who you say that to... you may offend a few people.
Just some friendly advice of course.
