(My shortest poem ever! Take a picture!)

A mighty tree stands tall
Among many others in a wood
But Time goes by
And the leaves must fall

Each
       leaf
             has
                  its
                        story

As it falls to the muddy earth below

I grab a few
So few!
Before they rot in the earth

Tell me your story, leaves
So that I may grow, also…

You already know how magnificent this is to me, Erica... I really REALLY love this, it's an excellent prelude to your series.  However, wouldn't it be a good idea to include the actual name of the series in your title?

My title is leaves, Allan, but I guess I'd better explain it now. This series is going to outline big events in human history. You might be asking what the heck this has to do with leaves... well, that's for me to know and you to find out!

Thanks for the replies, all!

Wonderful post Erica
One thing though, i believe if you swap also and grow in the end, it'll help the poem flow better.
thanks for sharing

Beautiful poem, Erica.  It is short, but it's very well written for it's length.  Nice job!
