Everyone wantes one thing To be accepted To be liked, loved But by who? Who is so great That we should change ourselves Inside and out To please them? And yet we all do it Some more than others Just to please someone And we just end up disliking ourselves What have I become? Am I thin enough, pretty enough, perfect enough? No matter how hard I try The answer remains the same And I dont know who I am trying to please But I dont like what I have become Then again, I dont like what I was... *If the only place I can live my dreams is in my sleep, then I'll sleep forever!* |

I agree with Allan, very expressive indeed. Something that might help? Becoming you. Pleasing you. You'll know when you get there whether or not it's what fits you. Great poem. I had a dream once that I could fly and I laughed at everyone and kicked them in the back of the head because they couldn't fly too. :) |

society puts a lot of pressure on people to confrom to a certain standard and it is a very easy trap to fall into. this is a wonderful piece, one that i can definetely relate to. Sometimes, the things that go unsaid are the only things worth hearing. |
