The rose, like all life,
finds destiny wrapped around wilting decay.

No beauty can deny the passage of time.

Shapely petals cling to stalks,
as tears cling to your chin before they fall.

Those silky tears drift away like a whisper,
and gather at the feet of the thorns.

They collect bellow like satin pools of blood.

Death steals away ruby teardrops,
until a single petal remains.

Beauty left as a hint of a dream.

What life life remains for that petal,
when all it knows is what has gone before?

A teardrop left in lonely yearning,
to join the blood beneath the thorns.

Sometimes, the things that go unsaid are the only things worth hearing.

Oustanding work.  The form of it was excellent, all in single lines or couplets.  The imagery was so powerful... you have a real talent for imagery.     I can't believe I missed this one!
