- I don't know who'll read this.  Don't know who it will bother, who it will hurt, or who will care. -

Why I Cry
I count the calories and read the labels
You beg me not to drink diet coke
Offer me food
Shove it in my face
Guys love me because of my cup size
But hate me, no doubt, for my complaining
My boyfriend loves me
Cringes when I bring this up
My clothes are baggy
oversized
Concealer hides the circles under my eyes
You wonder why I'll eat candy
But not "people food"
And you don't realize I read those labels too
Some guys are afraid to talk to me
Because of the way I might take it
I'm scared of some of them touching me
Because I bruise so easily
You once called me a whale, a hippo
Swore to God you were joking though
"Miss Anorexia"
I am a failure, a true disgrace
Perfectionist
It's more than being thin
Happiness, warmth
From within
But I can't even do that
I fail at that too, even when I tell myself
How fat, selfish, horrible I am
And so you say I'm anorexic, I'm hurting myself, I'm gonna die
But you don't ask me why I cry

Anorexia is a very hard thing to deal with, and i know the effect it has had on families and on individuals.  please don't destroy a mind capable of creating such beautiful poetry and send me an email if you ever need to talk.  i hope you can find help in one form or another (and i'm very serious about my offer).

Sometimes, the things that go unsaid are the only things worth hearing.

This is sad. I have said so much in the past about anorexia I just get tired of telling the same people that it's going to kill them if they keep it up.
seek pro. help....

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

This poem really hit hard.. very hard.
I'm sorry I missed this poem the first time around.  I know what you're talking about here, more than you know.  Please take the time to email me sometime, I would love to talk to you.
The poem was very emotional, and you expressed yourself so clearly that it literally brought tears to my eyes.  I like this a lot.  It's going into my library.

Good job on the poem and it's good to see you back in here.  Don't wait until someone asks, go to them and tell them why you cry.

This one really hit me.  My best friend was anorexic, and it hurts to watch someone do this to themselves knowing you cant do anything.  Dont push away those who really care, OK.  And if you need someone to talk to, please email me.

*~*Amanda*~*

My tears roll right down my cheeks, but they all soak into my pillow.  I feel kinda sorry for it...

This is really an accomplishment.  I think it's notable that you are able to articulate this feeling in such an incredible way.  Keep posting!
