Allysa was my name,
when I was first born,
into a family that was quite weird,
with memories quite forlorn.
My parents decided the spelling,
was actually not right,
and they changed it to Alyssa,
which is who I am, but not quite.
Part of me still clings to,
those weeks when I was her,
although the spelling got changed,
not long after my birth.
She is a part of me,
and I am a part of her,
and I don't know who I am,
I guess I'll never be completely sure.

I wish people would stop telling me that I can do anything I want to.  I never thought that I couldn't.
Life's tough, get a helmet.

Ooh, an interesting look at your name. I love hearing about everyone's usernames. We all ask ourselves this question, and I hope you find the answer someday. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, the S really must miss you.
Good job, see how much easier it is to just have a nifty pen name?

No matter how your name is spelled, it doesn't change the fact that you're this sweet young lady
You are who you act to be and not how your name is spelled

Oooooooo now we know the story behind the Allysa.....nice to know!

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

ahh, yes, thanks all! Especially Allan, who made me laugh, and Acire, who made me blush. Dopey, is there a story as to why you chose Dopey_Dope as your pen name? I'd like to know.
