I'm sick and tired
Of looking into the mirror
And crying at what I see.
I'm sick and tired
Of dying inside
Because of pictures in magazines,
That I can't help but read.

I'm sick and tired,
Of going hungry
For long periods of time,
And stifling the desire to eat,
I'm tired of passing up life
Just because I'd rather stay home,
And stare in the mirror,
And stand on the scales,
And cry myself to sleep.

This started as a protest poem,
An active call-to-arms.
But now it's descended to something else,
A pitiful cry for someone to help.
My strength is sapped,
Like everything else,
It's died.
And I can't rest in peace.

--Marie

I never thought that you would ever be the one to let me down. I guess that just goes to show how wrong I always am.

Eat chocolate. Chocolate makes everything better....or do what I do, chuck the mirrors out the window and give yourself Gelly Roll Pen tattoos. Ok maybe that's not for you. But...SMILE!!!!!!!!!!! I know it's hard, but...smile.

OMG, don't starve yourself! Your metabolism doesn't burn nearly as much as it would! When you start eating you'l gain weight for a time anyway, but then pounds of fat will melt right away! See someone, a doctor or dietician, to help you set something up, and then follow it. If you have the commitment to deprive yourself of food for long periods of time, then you have the ability to commit to being helthy. Please, mesage me on icq (81717559), or email me at elvenblood@spellsong.net, I want to help.

Well... if you need to talk to me, let's do it on AIM.
As for the poem, good job. It had a very unique feel for it.
Talk to you later.

Hey,

You know the deal. You know what I am going to say. You know where to reach me and keep up the good work on poems and your will to beat this. Until your next poem

You know the drill......every person who reads this is going to worry their butts off about you, and I am. It's horrible that you are going through this and I can only suggest going to seek pro. help.
HOwever, I will talk about the POEM which is one of the reasons why I clicked on the title. I thought it was great. I loved it, in fact. You are a very talented writer and I surely hope to see more of you, a lot more!

EDs...what a bunch of fun. The best part about them is when you go on 12 day fasts in order to achieve an unattainable perfection. *sigh*

I hope you're doing a lot better now, Marie. I always did and do worry about you. *hugs*
Thanks for sharing this piece. Could relate to it VERY well.
