In an upside-down garden

If you crumble a sheet of paper,
so that it fits inside your fist,
when you uncrumble it,
will it be whole again,
unable to be missed?

If you let yourself wither away,
till your to wrinkled to walk,
does that justify your right,
to move and think,
and talk?

If you wrinkle something dear to you,
like an orange carnation, or a letter,
will it crumble into dirt,
become nothingness,
or float like a feather?

If you let the truth,
wither away into the lies,
what is there to keep you from,
what they say, what they feel,
what they despise?

If you let go now,
of the memory of them,
and they wrinkle and twist,
and age and bend,
Will they still be your true friend?

I wish people would stop telling me that I can do anything I want to. I never thought that I couldn't.

Life is what happens when you're making ot

It is against the guidelines to post more than 3 threads in one day. Thank you.

This is a beautiful poem! Your thoughts are very well-tought-out, if that makes any sense.

And, just as acire said, stay away from posting more than 3 in one day. That way people can post what they think about your poetry.

But nice job on the poem

I never thought that you would ever be the one to let me down. I guess that just goes to show how wrong I always am.

Yeah, there's not much left to say, but I want to say it's incredibly bautiful, and thank you for posting it :-)

Okay, this simply rules. I am in LOVE with the format of it, Allysa. And the message is also great.
But for the sake of the FORMAT, this earns a seat in my library.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad you like it. I didn't mean to post four poems. But I've seen people do it before, so I didn't think much of it. Allan, thanks for making me smile.

Ahh, yes, the life of a disobediant person such as myself, I may have skimmed over the guidelines, but I FORGOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So forget about it!!!!! I have to say I like this poem very much! Even though I wrote it myself.
