In an upside-down garden

For years I called myself a misfit,
never understanding,
or wanting to try.

I wanted to just be left alone,
to be forgiven, forgotten,
to just seem to die.

I told you the truth,
about running away,
and maybe living in Chicago.

But you led me to believe,
that if I were to runaway,
there'd already be a place for me to go.

A place for me at your house,
that's what you told me,
and I didn't ask you why.

Because I knew the only reason,
that I would ever go there,
would be if I were going to say goodbye.

And I don't think I'm ready for that.
I'm not ready to be a misfit,
I'm not ready to runaway.

I'll save my thoughts on leaving,
all the I've dreamed up,
and keep that for another day.

Any day but now.

I wish people would stop telling me that I can do anything I want to. I never thought that I couldn't.

Life is what happens when you're making ot

It is against the guidelines to post more than 3 threads in one day. Thank you.

Allysa, now why are you thinking of doing something like that? You know better than that. Don't even think about it ok? And by the way, Chicago is not an easy place to live at. I love the emotions of th epoem, but I don't like the thought in it. I expect more from you

If you are going to run away, at least be smart and have some sort of plan.
Don't do it though. Worrying people who care about you isn't worth it.

Keep on producing these great pieces. )

I never thought that you would ever be the one to let me down. I guess that just goes to show how wrong I always am.

I'm not going to do anything I'll regret. Just a little upset when I wrote this. Fine now. When I get upset, I write and talk on the phone.

It's very good... I think the last line would have been a better title.
Still, great job. Keep your wits about you.
Keep writing (or maybe call me on the phone )
