Physically? VA.... Mentally? I'm not quite sure

0 posted 2001-03-13 09:36 AM

Tamma's situation really made me think. A lot of people from my school are now posting here and reading my poetry... which is very personal. In the past few days I've been dealing with feelings of betrayal due to a new member here seemingly taking my ideas I use in my work in his/her poetry. Quite upsetting... And I don't want my deepest feelings being exposed to people who know me in person. So this is my final goodbye...

I love it here in Passions,
But good things always end.

There's a time to say hello,
And a time to say goodbye.

This is my goodbye,
Although I really don't want to leave.

This family here in Passions,
Is one to be cherished.

But I feel as if I am being forced to leave,
And that's something I cannot control.

I'm sorry to have to say goodbye,
But I feel as if I have no other choice.

So goodbye my friends,
Until another time...

I know this poem isn't that great considering I wrote it out in about two minutes. I just wanted to tell everyone here at passions that I will miss you, and please understand that I do not want to leave.

*Jennifer

This has just gone too far.
I'll talk to you about this later, Jennifer.

Look, I'm sorry to see you go. Im sorry that you think I am stealing your poetry. I write what I feel and I write it to get things off my chest. You do not know what I have been through, so you cannot really understand that. Nobody can. I hope that you will stop this, because I am not a plagarizer, and I would appreciate it if you would stop saying this. I am no longer posting here either, so goodbye

Miranda,
I don't think you're stealing my poetry, just using my ideas, and that in itself is frustrating. I agree with Tamma about her situation... this is my personal haven to come and write what I feel. And I feel like other people know really know me are finding out things about me I don't want them to. I came here to post whatever because no one really knew me. And now I feel very exposed. I've been here since the beginning of December to have a place where I could be myself. And now I feel like that's been violated. I'm sorry.

Oh well this is just wonderful! 3 people whose work I love are leaving becuse we can't just get along happily. I don't see the problem with knowing that people you see are reading your poetry. I realize though, what you're feeling, and that it can be easier to share things with people you don't really know as well. Eitehr way, please stay,

There is only one word that comes to mind when people do this and it is depressing. If you like writing poetry and posting it in a forum like this keep doing it!! Don't worry if people are reading your work or getting an insight into your soul. That is what poetry is all about! If you are hating it that much, change your user name and don't tell anyone that you did. That way you can still stay and post your poetry because you will be deeply missed if you decide to go.

In the end, the decision is yours but think of everything you lose when you leave. The people, the great poetry and the wonderful replies that you can receive to your own works of art. Weigh that up against the situation you are in which CAN be changed if you really want to that badly.

I hope to see you here again Jennifer.

I think the both of you need to grow up.
Tears.....yer a great poet....just cuz somebody has the same ideas as you doesn't mean a thing. You can express a SINGLE idea in a billion ways......
and as for the other girl.....waitingsomethingsomething- Relax, everythings cool.....if you have a friend or a classmate who's posting here......talk to them in SCHOOL about this.......sort things out......

to the both of you= come to a rational conclusion before filling up our boards with school yard hissy fits that I really don't need to be reading.

I hope the both of you come back and continue to post.

Your friend,
Javier

Why don't you two just look at it this way.

Just use this chance to get to know each other better.  There is nothing wrong with that.  If both of you have the love for writing and reading poetry, then you have a chance to do something that most of us can't.  That is to take that love out of passions and talk to each other about it in person.  Honestly, I envy your situation.....

So long lives this, and this give life to thee."  W.S.
