For those of you that know italian, you know Nono means grandfather, nona grandmother. For those who dont you just learned a new words in a different language.

The phone rang, while I tried to get
lost in my world of sleep
A horrible day it is today, your gone
all I want to say is Je t'aime Nono, just
one more time, give you one more hug, one
more of my smiles, that you always said
broke hearts and melted anger
I want you to come to one more horse show
with Nona, one more dinner, one more arabic
word, I want to make you proud
My father's voice telling me that you are gone
over the phone, delirous with sleep
I think I'm dreaming, but daddy's voice
tells me again , and again
How can a life get turned upside down in
only two days? my body lying on a hospital
bed and my nono gone forever
what kind of horrible person am I to deserve
all this pain? Did I hurt someone so bad?
Your french words still echo in my ear
All I wanted to say one more time,
Je t'aime None

Ina - Very beautiful poem. I am sorry for your loss. This is a very beautiful tribute to your Grandfather. I lost my G-Pa about 3 years back and wrote a similar poem, but I have always kept that one to myself. My best wishes go out to you.

I liked it....very well expressed here. My condolences about Nono.

This is an excellent tribute. Very well written, a lot of emotion, you nearly made me cry.
I hope that you never forget him, and keep your Nono close to your heart always.
This is a great way to commemorate him.
If you need to talk to me, you know where I can be reached.
Be strong, hon.
