History can’t be planned
by mortals. Thus we leave it to God
to erase the empires and to blot
out mistakes by hand.
How sad it is that you have no
control over the slings and arrows
of outrageous fortune! No power!
And now that you know
that none of the laws
are men-made, you sit and grumble.
But the ruins of Rome won’t crumble
in your powerful jaws,
Clio. Betrayed by people,
who refuse to write their own fate,
you’re known to cry in the shade
like a hungry seagull.
Remember the glorious ages?
Men were you slaves. You inspired
expeditions and wars! That time expired,
now, turn the pages...
Clio, you served as a muse
to the poets and generals of your day...
Your ink has dried, and come what may,
you are now of no use!

Wowish, yet another beautiful poem.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

very strong words Master
I see you're referring to Greek Mythology
what about the other muses?
have they dried up too?
specially Erato -- at least for me the answer is yes

"So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this give life to thee." W.S.
