Okay this sucks horribly, just think of the "Ana's Song(Open Fire)" by Silverchair if you can...

Is this an obsession
Is everyone just making it bigger
Can you see my bones
Can you see through me

I don't know why but I need it
You don't understand
Can't you see
Can't you see what I see in my head

Is this my obsession
They're making it bigger
Can't you see my bones
Can't you see the bones

I don't know why but I need this
You can't understand
You don't see
You don't see the fat I see

Why is it an obsession
I need it now
Just get off my back
Just leave me alone

-Okay now, I wrote this while talking to a guy(who wasn't really talking back), listening to Silverchair, and attempting to correctly use Henna(if there's anyone who can do that can you give me a hint here?). This is much "inspired" by "Ana's Song" it has no rhyme or anything, please just try to read between the lines. Thanks so much...
Bel

I don't know much about Silverchair... but this poem was alright.
Pretty good job.
Wish I could be more helpful.

Thanks very much for replying!!
DQ- Yeah, I should really be around here more often, thanks
Allan- Thanks much. As for Silverchair, they're an Australian group with a few albums out.. The song, "Ana's Song" is about one of the members' anorexia.
And well....how that applies to my life...I was hoping I wouldn't have to say. Any of you that know me, or anything I've written before...maybe you'll get this...
Thanks SO much!!

Well from the not so subtle hints that you've given us, I think it might be safe to say that you are suffering from......anorexia? If you are then I suggest you seek some aid or help from a friend or a professional.
Nice poem.

About Silverchair......they rock!!
First album released when the lead singer was 15 (frogstomp)in 1995.....the lead singer has the anorexia.....composed of 3 band members......guitarist/vocalist......bassist and drummer.

after frogstomp there was Neon Ballroom, which is the cd with Ana's song, which by the way Kicks MAJOR butt......then came the album FREAK......freak rocks....if you don't have it....get it.

Wow... this one hit home. I almost cried reading this one. I hope you're not struggling with this. But if you EVER need to talk to someone, trust me, I would love to chat. Wonderful poem...

Sorry I have not been here in a while.. As for your poem it was heart wrenching, and I agree with Dopey on this situation you are in. We are all here for you if you ever need us, but please for you as well as your family and friends find a doctor and if that is to hard look to a friend, family member, teacher, adult, anyone. I do hope everything works out for the best and you get some help soon if you have not gotten help already. Best of luck with this and I wish the best to come your way.

I have noticed that with many of the poems on this topic, I can usually tell, even if those who have already replied have not.  I think that if you have been there, as I have, you can tell when someone is talking about this subject.  Also, most people who do suffer from this cannot just say "I need help".  My friend once told me, "I cant reach out to someone who wont grab my hand".  This describes this perfectly.  Most anorexics and bulimics do not want help, and like me, are scared of being labeled "weird", or of just wanting attention, both of which I have heard.  Great poem though.

Hey there,
This poem made me check myself.  I had to look at myself and make sure it wasnt true.  I love silverchair.  Ana's aong made me realize that i cant take this for granted and that I have to love myself first and if I dont than how can I love someone else.  Keep your head up.

Hey bel,

Another great piece on an ED. Silverchair write some fantastic lyrics and if they inspired you to write this then you're blessed.

I love this and the style in which you wrote it was fairly unique.
Thanks for sharing.
