I write to as self reflection, of my views, and beliefs, and feelings. They can be VERY personal at times. this was inspired by RFK

Sitting in that room that night that year
My life has changed towards right, please hear
That man who was what I now am
Will rise again, that wonderful man

I see the writing on the wall
The wall opposing my neighbor must fall
Why do those people put us down?
They want us buried in the ground

When colors change, when gods die
Will all the bigots cry?
When gay is fine, and few people care
Will the bigots lose their hair?

Our leaders are gunned down in the street
Only evil gets to cheat
We play by our rules set by each other
Yet evil decides to hate his brother

Is hate the emotion or is it fear?
For why is it wrong to be queer?
What about color and religion too;
Do any of these matter to you?

The answers are “no” one and all
For bigots won’t care when titles fall
Their fear is of numbers; less than their own
When titles are gone, numbers won’t be known

And “no” it’s not wrong, to be yourself
If someone tries to change you, he should change himself
My message is clear: do not fear
For acceptance will bring you life.

"Some men see things as they are and say why.
I dream things that never were and say why not." ~RFK

Bryan! WELCOME! hehehe i hope you enjoy it here. we are like a big family. Like the brady bunch, you love us all but by the end of one episode you will get annoyed with atleast someone (and no i'm not saying that because i'm annoyed with anyone LOL). I love this poem! i read it before but now it has more meaning I want to see more. but welcome, enjoy your stay, and please keep all hands, arms, and legs inside at all times

This is all so true. I'm behind you 100%.
There are some things that should just be accepted about people. We should not have to change who we are just to suit others. I know exactly how you feel-- i've had friends leave me because their religion told them to. It simply is not right of people to judge you for who you truly are.
Be yourself. I'll do the same, regardless of what others think. You have my support.
Now you are a part of our family, so don't be afraid to ask for help at any time! I have ICQ, and I'm adding you to my contacts as soon as this post is made. It's all a part of your "initiation." ~_^
You are going to love it here. Welcome to Passions.

... I am speechless. This poem has so much meaning and such truth held tightly within it. A wise friend once told me it matters not what color you are, religion, gay, straight, nice, mean, helpful, shy, or believe in a god. All that matter is that you are there for the person when they need you, and no matter what they are, how they act or what they believe to see them from the heart and love them until the end of day.

(library I know you will be happy to have this poem within your walls.)

This is so true. No one should change themselves to get accepted. The person who tries to change you should look within themselves. This is a great start to what I hope will be a long stay for you... Welcome to the fam.!!! hehe

first of all, i guess i'm an idiot cause i dunno who RFK is. second, i'm kinda new here too. third, and most important, this is a great piece of work. it definitely hit home for me. i'm just glad that i can see that there are others who feel the same as i do, out in the world. i've yet to actually meet any. anyway, again, this is a great work. i love the meaning and thank you for giving me hope for this world.

Wow, "hope in this world"? Holy cow, I've never been accused of something so great. Thanks you deeply from the very depths of my soul :-) I'll never forget that. RObert Kennedy was a huge civil rights leader int he 60's. He would have been president of the United States if he hadn't been shot in 1968. Email me and ask for links and I'll send you a few.

WELCOME TO PASSIONS!!!

unfortunately, there's a lot of ignorance in this world. i too do not understand why other people have so much hate for someone who doesn't act or look like them. it's always gonna be a mystery i guess. the best thing to do is, no matter what, we should hold our heads up high.

thanks for the read
