I stared out my window and into the night
Overhead a shooting star passed
Catching me up in its flight

I closed my eyes and made a wish.....

I wished for someone to love me
Someone to care
Someone to hold me when I needed them there
Someone to cry with
Someone who wouldnt lie
Someone who would make it ok when I felt as if I could die
Someone I could trust
Someone who could make me smile
Someone that would go that extra mile

And then like a dream come true
I opened up my eyes and I found you

This poem was excellent!  Simply outstanding! It's funny how one person can mean everything to you, isn't it?  I've never read your work before, but I'm glad that you gave me the opportunity.
Very well done!

BEAUTIFUL!!! I can't believe no one's reading and replying to this poem.  Well, you can always count on Allan to read your poem.  So as Dopey and Lake.  They're just running a little late i guess.  Your poem is magnificent. I'm loving it a lot.

Thanks for the share

How come it is so easy for a person to say "I hate you," but it is so difficult for someone to say "I love you" and really mean it????

Impressive.  I think this poem would go well as a song.

Hey!
It's a good thing I looked at this one, as acire already promised my reply!  (I have been a little bad at replying lately, I could have missed this one!)  Now about the poem, though, it's very good, it caught my thoughts at the beginning, sometimes with middles like those I get bored but this one was perfect, and the ended was great!  So, it's a really good poem   I hope you are inspired and post some more soon
