You use me like I use myself You look up to me like I look up to you We're lying on the same ines Trying to stay grounded On this fast paced highway You try like I try to earn my life You hide like I hide from the world We're clinging onto each other's strengths Only because the truth never stops coming On this path to no return You're learning like I'm learning now You're screaming like I use to scream We're changing in the same place But I was here first And now you need me to pick you up On this road to life Running from the reality And smothering the innocence We can't fight what we're not ready for It'll swallow us whole before we'll even know Cause we're both speeding down the highway "You do what you do, you say what you say, you try to be everything to everyone... come on now, do that stupid dance for me" -Everclear |

I liked this one. Very nicely written. Hopefully you don't crash while speeding down this highway though eh?  I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I'm in love with my shadow I admire it daily |

You did a great job metaphoring what comes with life. Yes, it's like a super highway. You have to be cautious of others around you. You have to know when to speed up or down and change lanes.
