It isn't very fun
when you come to
read replys
and there are none

You post a poem
expecting replys
but have the time
you don't get them
in this forum

So please friends
when you post
don't forget to reply
so hearts won't bend
The End

(hey I know this doesn't really rhyme and isn't very good but I wrote real quick so I could make a point! A lot of times ppl post their poems and then don't reply to other ppl...or even just reply to certain ppl...try to read everyone's poetry and try to reply to other's poetry...It just makes ppl feel like they can write well and not left out or feel like their poetry is bad!!! Thanx!)

Guilty!!!
I have favorite artists.  But seriously I understand what your saying.  At the same time, I don't think replying to every poem is the answer.  Then the members just become pez dispensers of replies.  I think I like this place the way it is, because even if only get one reply I feel it is usually sincere.  But yeah the more you can reply the better this place is going to be.  So I think making ppl conscience of this is a good idea.  I just hope that everyone realizes just because you don't get a reply from me it's not because I don't like your poetry... it's just that I have not discovered your talent yet.  One thing that I noticed though... all the people that I reply to... those are the people that reply to my poetry, so I guess if you want more replies to your poetry than do as much replying your self as you can.  I think that usualy works.
SweetPie5, sorry if I got a little off track I was just writing what was going through my head.  Thanks for this post.  It's good to know what people are thinking about this forum.  And your right, more replies would = better forum.

Well all my replies are sincere.......regardless if I put a long elaborate reply or just the word "sweet" or "nice" which I tend to do. Regardless.......some poems deserve an elaboration on how I truly feel.
I could put in this one "AMEN" or.....well THIS hehe.
Anyway.........I reply to EVERYTHING. I like to read everything because it teaches me YOUR styles.....and I compare and contrast them in my head. Then when I go to sleep, just before of course, I read the FAMOUS BIG NAMED poets and analyze theirs.....then I write my own stuff......all knowing of all your styles.....being able to weave a mesh of styles to chose from.
I like that......the versility......it's power.
Anyway Good job on pointing this out.....

Ok Steph, I know where you are comin from...and I agree...but you know as well as I do that I don't have time to sit and read every poem in here. And I know many others don't either. Some people might, and thats great, but others don't. But I try to read as much as I can. The thing that ticks me off, is the people who come and post a poem and then expect to get a whole bunch of replies back when they don't bother to read/reply to any one elses. I'm not saying anyone has to read everyone's poetry, just try to reply to at least a few everyday, and then maybe when you start replying more you will get more replies back...I don't know. I don't even know if this is even making any sense to anyone but me...well thats all I have to say for now! buh bye!!

Much Luv,
Priscilla

How come it is so easy for a person to say "I hate you," but it is so difficult for someone to say "I love you" and really mean it????

I agree with Isgona. Sometimes people that you've read from before, and liked, you reply to. And sometimes, people who reply to you, you may go to check out their work in return. Then it usually turns out that you like their poetry, and you keep replying. If you generically reply to everyone, it does others no good. I want four heartfelt replies... instead of ten generic ones. Anyway I understand what you're saying about the ones who just post and leave, I try to not be like those people.

I'm glad to see that everyone is handling this nicely so far.  I hope it stays this way.

If you guys/girls haven't noticed, our reply to post ratio is much better now than ever before.  You should actually be proud of yourselves is you ask me.  As of now, it seems like we average 9.53 replies per person.  That is higher than the last forum. wherein we averaged 8.2 I know it doesn't seem much of a change, but if you noticed, our replies are more balanced/spread out to each member.  Now, I barely see anyone having only 1 or 2 replies, and at the same time someone else having 30.  We are doing much better, but that doesn't mean that there is no more room of improvement.  There is always room for improvement.  I can't wait till the time we get like an average of 15 replies per poem.  It'll come, we're just gonna have to be patient.

Again, to you all,  thanks for handling this issue as a discussion and not an arguement.  You should be proud of yourselves cause I am
