This poem was written by a friend of mine. He never lets people read his poems but I'm trying to change that. I liked them so I thought I'd share one. This is soo sad... can I offer some advice for you to tell your friend... Yes their dad may have missed 15 years of his life, but at least he is there now... My real dad died when I was 2 years old, consequently I have lived without knowing him for 16 years now... I wish I knew him as I am told that I am soo much like him, which then brings up the fact then that... "Who Am I???" I am not saying that your friend should let his dad become his new best friend, but he should give him a bit of a chance... My son is also going to grow up not knowing his dad because he refuses to accept him in his life... My lil boy is only a few months old... I wish his dad would accept him for one day he's going to want to know who he is and where he is... and then what am I going to tell him... Anyway, it is up to your friend... I can understand why he doesn't want anything to do with his dad and that is completely understandable... Good Luck and your friend writes well, if you are able to, could you possibly email me some of his work? It's cool if you don't want to breach that part of your friendship, im sure he doesn't want strangers reading his work, but only if you can!! Bye - before I babble any further!! You can't hurt me anymore than I have hurt myself already... |

Well I know it must be hard for her.......but at least the guy is trying. Most don't....  I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I'm in love with my shadow I admire it daily |

This is a very sad (although well-written) piece, but we do not allow people to post the work of others in the poetry forums. If you want to share your friend's work, feel free to post it in Feelings, along with how it makes you feel. I am locking this thread. If anyone has any questions, feel free to send an e-mail!
