Platonic Winter

We've reached beyond our conversation,
Extending, if not hands then twigs of caring
For each other's thought. By sharing drops of each
We risk our own. Like pearls of rain
Dangling from a leafless arch
They inch along with hope to touch and coalesce.
Most fall short and puddle
Like the coffee spilled between us.
Though some, frozen out of cycle,
Venture on
Suspending
Spring.

You've captured the essence of that unending hope for love:

Though some, frozen out of cycle,
Venture on
Suspending
Spring.

We'd like to think love in the cards for all of us...

I'd publish this one.
