No Hold

Among the roses in the evening dew
thorns wrestle with her soul as passing sorrows call
while peaceful whispers waltz once again in her heart
for the love of heaven is on her mind
where her baby sings in blue fields of serenity
among ten thousand angels
surounded by praises to the king
near shores of silver and gold
where death has no hold
and roses never grow old

Blooming Rose,

I think that the absent of comment is a reaction to the suggestion, the hint of infant death. One hardly knows what to say.

Deb ... this is so very lovely ...
such wonderfully written imagery laced
with such serene spiritual undertones.
well done poetess...nice to see you posting here again.

oh you speak to me in riddles
and you speak to me in rhymes
my body aches to breathe your breath
your words keep me alive

I think it's amazing how you used imagery to paint a story and a message without coming out and saying it...this was so artfully and tastefully done. In my mind's eye I could see a grieving woman in a garden of roses...coming to terms with the passing...then there is understanding and peace. I think this is one of the most touching descriptions of heaven that I have read...for heaven is also a state of mind. Thank you for sharing!

Bob~ Thank you for reading. A friend of mine lost her daughter recently, and her passing has many grieving.
We know where she is so there is a measure of peace.

ethome~ Hope. It's the key to peace that passes all understanding.

Marge~ Thank you. You are always a sweet comfort.

Jan~ I wanted to express peace through the storm of losing a child. I am glad you read that in the poem too.

jellybean~ Thank you. Very kind words you give to me.
