OverWhelmed
[Blame it on the Music]

some say
it’s in the air
I don’t care
it could be in
the water I drink
but it could also
be in the way
I think

or I could
just blame it
in the reverie
and how the
music
feels to me

for it carries
me away
yet holds me
safely in its
sway
as I try my
moods to
parlay
into a sense
of stay

but the whelm
takes over
and the full
becomes the feel
and if you
were to extend
to touch
you’re not
certain what
would be real
or if like mist I
were to float
right on through
the skin
you’re in
you would do
some wondering

oh please say
you too
have felt before
like I do
now,
as evermore,
I cannot
conceive
that you could
believe
what I might say
if you had never
felt this way,
somehow

you know,
this sense of
nether world
where emotions
come unfurled
where love
and love
is one
love
swirled….

and should
the whelm
you provide
never subside
then know,
please know
that for all
that while,
you will have
to contend
with
my
smile…

Whenever you mention music in the title of a poem I always become immediatly curious......

"but the whelm
takes over
and the full
becomes the feel
and if you
were to extend
to touch
you’re not
certain what
would be real
or if like mist I
were to float
right on through

some wondering

oh please say

like I do
now,
as evermore,
I cannot
conceive
that you could
believe
what I might say
if you had never
felt this way,
somehow

you know,
this sense of
nether world
where emotions
come unfurled
where love
and love
is one
love
swirled….

and should
the whelm
you provide
never subside
then know,
please know
that for all
that while,
you will have
to contend.............
WITH MY SMILE........"

I really really like this!!

LiW - never - ever - with someone I've never , ever met -have I felt such a kindred spirit with - just by the reading of poetry:

"oh please say
you too
have felt before
like I do
now,
as evermore,
I cannot
conceive
that you could
believe
what I might say
if you had never
felt this way,
somehow

this sense of
nether world
where emotions
come unfurled
where love
and love
is one
love
swirled….

and should
the whelm
you provide
never subside
then know,
please know
that for all
that while,
you will have
to contend
with
my
smile…"
