Earth Spirit
Effervescent
By edge water
Smooth pebbles
Echo Mountain shadows
Unaware
As I search for
Her delicate round heel

Knowing not
That she is sand
That forms rocks
Mountains, and
Each water drop
Fills rivers and oceans
As she fills me, with
Insatiable wanderlust

Knowledge comes
From the journey
A circle, where each step
Is a beginning
And a destination
Spiral to an eye
Where the rings of a pebble
Run across the lake

And gaze into
Reflection, waiting there
A mirror forms
For the first time see
The Earth Spirit
Lives in me

Such elemental sentiment, I do like this. Thanks for it.

JBK this is excellent ...
superb imagery painted succinctly and effectively...
a very cool poem with a wonderful ethereal feel to its essence...
a lovely celebration and homage of respect to the earth for its many gifts.

"As I search for
Her delicate round heel"

what a very cool premise and line that is!
very well done poet sir.

oh you speak to me in riddles
and you speak to me in rhymes
my body aches to breathe your breath
your words keep me alive
