My clock just sounded twelve midnight.
I've been sitting for hours it seems;
Searching through electronic pages
Of others folks' sorrows and dreams.

There are sad tales of love unrequited
And others of love turned to hate.
There's teacherous love, and adulterous love,
And love come too early, and love that's too late.

There are descriptions of love and its passion,
That shouldn't be put on a page.
There are stories of love, that's not love at all;
But more like a slow burning rage.

But where is the love told by poets of old?
Fanciful, sweet and sublime.
Written with care, with beauty so rare,
A poem to last for all time.

My mind is wearied with reading.
I can do no more searching tonight.
Perhaps tomorrow I'll find it;
A love poem that's purely delight.

Send me a poem full of laughter;
A happy for ever and after.
