I listen quietly
to your heart
Dancing softly within your words
as you express just a tiny bit of
who you are

Each writing a discovery
A tiny piece of an intricate puzzle
Beautiful and deep

The original soul
Matching no other
A gift to see
To understand

I study each piece thoughtfully
Tracing the edges gently with a fingertip
The soft curves and sharp corners
Placing it carefully
within the puzzle of you
inside my mind

"When people show you who they are, believe them"

The mystery of the other . . .
Nicely captured, J A W, well done!
I especially liked the last three lines:

"Placing it carefully
within the puzzle of you
inside my mind"

You know where your at with everything you write. So i really don't think there is a puzzle...with knowing how the pieces fit.
And by the you have been discovered since you been here..

Thanks so much everyone! Bernie, I kinda meant discovering others through their poetry. But in truth, I suppose that does include myself. Though I appricate that it may look like I know where I am. *laughing* Raindrops, my head is on, it's just not always straight!

I do that, too...try to put someone together through their words. This is great.

Yes, poetry does blow our cover, doesn't it?? This is just excellent, JAW! Truly enjoyed this one...

sp

do I believe we'd be better off apart?
can I see my world without you in it?
baby, not for a single minute...

sometimes, though. . . the pieces that we see aren't all that's there. . . that's when we have to look back in the box, and see the pieces that we've missed. . .

excellent. . . wonderfully told. . .
