Not Ready for the Rain to Leave

azure blue, so clear the sky today
and the sun she's peeking in so bright
but I think I'm missing some the gray
and perhaps there's too much light

I'm not ready for the rain to leave
I need a reason for my heart so heavy
it is difficult for me to believe
I'd like dams to flood, to break this levy

if a song comes on with sweet violin
I feel the chills go across my soul
the tears they fill and well within
for a moment of feel, so very old

for I won't cry in the light of the sun
and you can't get me to be the one
to pull you down, nor make you frown
no, I won't rain on your parade of fun

but I shall let your memory loose
to go the way of you, if you choose
I'm just not ready for the rain to leave
for it would mask the way I grieve

This is a wonderful poem. I myself find it hard to grieve when the world seems so happy.
You have put alot of emotion into this poem.

well done Lady...
poetically perfect use of comparisons, imagery and emotion in this bittersweet write,
its beauty lies in it sincere confessions and melancholy.

We wish ourselves beautiful,
we cry in the night.
Its not the love you fear ...
its the fall from the height.

Sometimes it somehow makes it easier for the sky to shed our tears... we're not so all alone. Well done, Lady!

I love the feeling in this...that despite the pain of grieving, sometimes we just have to do it...not able to give up the sadness so easily, and maybe we shouldn't. Beautiful and sad at the same time!

Yes, I do understand this one...wonderfully written!

to be with you...
I've tried to hide my passion,
but it's just no use...
piece by piece I lose it
when you walk into the room...

Outstanding use of comparative language. Poignant in its delivery of feelings shot straight through to the reader. Excellent.

Martie...poignant is a feeling I believe you and might might wear well, thank you...

Kerri, then your cup must always be half-way full....a wonderful way to be, regardless of what others might think....

Janet Marie - sincere, a key word, I do believe....

suthern, so very right, sweet Lady....

Catalinamoon, of course you do....

James, if you think, then perhaps I did this write right....

Jellybean King - so you like the ins and outs of passionate feelings, good!

snowpants, I knew you would....

Julian, a kind critique if ever I saw one, thank you.

Thank you all.

This is why I associate so much with the sad song sung by Skeeter Davis called "The End of the World"...time and again I find myself the object of this song...James
