Who can you blame for cancer or diabetes?
There is no blame.
It is simply something,
That for some reason,
Happens to some of us.
We tend to be the sensitive ones.
We always want everything to be perfect.
We want to be perfect,
Yet we are very quick to forgive others,
And yet we do not treat ourselves the same way...
We are harder on ourselves.
We feel we need to be the strong ones
And not burden anyone with our problems.
It's just a thing that happens.
God bestowed a unique gift on us
To be able to empathize and forgive others.
We want desperately to "save the world."
But in wanting to do so much for others,
We tend to neglect ourselves.
Why?
I don't know.
Why are some people mean and some just ignorant?
There is no "thing" or "event" to blame.
It's just something we have to expect,
And deal with as best we can.
We need to use our experiences
As an opportunity for personal growth,
And not just find a person or thing to blame.
That is just counter productive to our battle.

I never thought that you would ever be the one to let me down. I guess that just goes to show how wrong I always am.

Marie,

Wonderful thoughts here. I know that I for one am always much harder on myself than anyone else. I guess that would be the perfectionist in me. LOL. Well done!

Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats
