I'm going home, pass the word
Roll out the red carpet
Kill the fatted calf and be assured
I won't be late, you can bet

I wonder who will be in the drive
To see if I look different
Mostly just to see if I'm still alive
Or wonder how my time was spent

When I left I said I'd never be back
I was a grown-up, you bet
Who needed rules, regulations & other flap
I'd be the one with rules to set

I went many places by many different ways
Sometimes I remember other times not
A lot of those days are still just a haze
Others I was so cold and others too hot

No one could tell me life could get better
I had the world by the tail
Didn't have to make points or call anyone sir
If you don't try anything I guess 'ya won't fail

Then one day I just woke up, what a shock
No more did I have a reason to roam
My whole life could fit in a box
I didn't care if I had to crawl I was going home

I thought the grass was greener
On the other side of the fence
Now only one thing I know for sure
I'm ready for the real world minus time spent

Seymour Tabin, yes it is true and if we are lucky we get where we are going. Thanks for reading

bslicker, sounds like you would learn from a mistake or two but we never know until we try. Learning is a trip by its self. Like your humor, Bernie.

Butterflies, my kid, don't push! you know it will be over a month yet. It will be good to get home and I don't expect a fatted calf, but will think of something else to have waiting. What about that famous tea that y'all talk about. Love and hugs, Mom E.

Now, Sven, I can't say I believe you! If you could see all the wild flowers, Spring Breakers (thought I would throw that in)and all this winter that you don't have to shovel, I am sure you would think about it too. I know I have to go to Michigan sooner or later, but please warm it up first!! LOL Thanks anyway. ME

Home is where the heart is...
well done ME..loved the wisdom in those last verses...
and I'll send butterfly the secret recipe for the tea

We wish ourselves beautiful,
we cry in the night.
Its not the love you fear ...
its the fall from the height.

Janet Marie & my Butterfly kid, I am sure after a 1600 mile trip I will be ready to sit and ride-a-spell in May. But, who will drive? Thank you my girls and love and hugs, Mom E
