What the world sees is not me
It sees what i wish for them to view
Facades mingled into one
Personality that's thought to be mine
Inside I doubt so much about me
I look at life and wonder how it happened
That I so tall, so big, so smart allegedly
Could be so weak and afraid
Where is the core to me?
What is it that I truly am?
Will I ever be free and loved?
Or am i destined to unhappiness
Where's the courage and
The strength I need to fight
Where's the brass i used to have
Where'd it go and when did it leave.
Part is missing you understand
Many years vanished inside
Locked tight and deep within
The mind refuses to yield.
Is what i describe for real?
Or is it only my perception
That what's happening within
Is my mind practicing to deceive?
Must break free of this dependence
On others to make me feel
Worthwhile inside and happy

Depth, honest pain, and the search for the core of self. I loved this writing and shall save to reflect upon many times, I am sure. I thank you for posting it.
