Fluttered Red

~*Marge Tindal*~

As I watched
this day get dressed
I realized how I'd been blessed

Fluttered red, on Cardinal wing
flit the morning of my Spring
Russet-hued mate in close pursuit
Chirping watch - how very cute

In just a merry eye-of-blinking
Oh, my gosh - what was I thinking ?
Mother Nature dressed the scene
decking it out in Irish Green

What then now, this fluttered red
Where the heck had I been led ?
Ah, upon a sunflower's crest
I found nature's seed
the Cardinal liked best

Then I knew - I had no choice
but in my heart to show rejoice
For just a moment to share the pleasure
of nature's colors in full-measure

Across the Spring of Irish Green spread
came these beauties of fluttered red

When I started smiling after the first stanza I knew we were going to have fun with this one...and we did! The rhythm was right on, the picture painted was perfect, and what a light, airy Spring poem, I loved it!

This was great! The use of coloured fonts aided the poem nicely. I should try that sometime!
See you around.

Melissa~
I have nicknamed them - Scarlet On Wings.
Such beauty and I'm glad to have shared them with you.

Claire~
What a sweetie you are !
Glad you enjoyed this little red treasure.

SEA~
I'm just tickled
red that you liked it.

Outside my writing room window -
the Cardinals come each day.
What pleasure they give me.
But ... the inspiration for this piece came on my drive to work this morning when a Cardinal swooped in front of my car and suddenly swerved to miss the windshield !
That began the fluttered red and it grew from there.

Allan~
Good idea ... let me know when you do it !
Thanks for the red .... er, I mean read !

Ah, JanetMarie~
It IS Spring !
And the woods are full of red-in-flutter.

*Sharing with you all -

How wonderful, Marge--I don't think I've ever seen a Cardinal...they are beautiful, as is your poem.

Marge, they most certainly are...and are mixing their sounds with the mourning doves...

That does it! *G* I need to be outside appreciating this beautiful day... I need to have a computer with hours and hours to play... I need to smell the flowers and hear the songs of birds... To sit here with this werk monster is really quite absurd! *G*

I love your poem, Marge... and the beautiful pictures you and JM provided... cardinals are so lovely... so are your words. *S*
