A Grand Seduction

Across the green ribbon of this day
I walk with the sun at my back
and all the glorious beginnings
of color lifting around me.

The blue periwinkle reaches for my ankle
and the golden trumpet flower
breathes into the air
a symphony of fragrance.

All around the fruit trees are budding,
holding their tiny color out
like a gift.

The vines climb
up the chain link
and across wooded slats,
reaching jasmine white
into the alley.

The sun shines now
on a pillow where spring makes love,
for I hear her calling, look,
look at what I am to become,

as with grand seduction
she lays down
and lets me watch her frolic.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.
(ee cummings)

I knew that spring's siren call beckoned and enticed... but I'd never thought of it as seduction... what a wonderful image you've given! *S* Beautiful!
