What to Give

in seeking beauty
would I give
more than a
thousand cherries
on the tree,
than for one
redwinged blackbird
singing a song to me….

would I allow
a rabbit to roam free
knowing that it
multiplies
in sextuplets and more
than for a
coyotes' howl
singing at my door

castles are built
but on what,
servitude?
or guilt;
give me calm
and then
give me balm
on the day of when…

come again?
come again and
give it now
believe in me, oh somehow
learn to lean
and learn to laugh
and give me up
for all my gaffs….

I love you…

you will not
learn to lean
and I feel
you are mean
O I feel
so guarded of mind
and then wonder
why you are not kind

where did we go?

we were one
then we were none
we go before
then out the door
I thought I knew
the inside of you
and now I know
I'm forevermore…

What to give?

==================

some just cant lean or take that gift from others ...
its hard to love and comfort when they are so closed off ...
thats what I read in this.

(the castle metaphor and verse was perfect poetry)

Sprayed across my heart and hers
Danced butterflies in the wild
This angel, this woman ,
who loves me with the innocence of a child.

Hi Lady in White,

I loved the imagery you built up in this and the way you told your story,

Love, Cerenity

All this you are willing to give and give up. But i get the message of a one sided giving..
Liked this very much.

Thank you Cerenity - I have read your works, and your quill goes overtime as well...

Bernie...once I thought I had to be older before I could write....I see many fine YOUNG poets here who have an insight I wish I could have....so you and I Sir, we must go through the angst, and then we shall be able to poet along, don't you agree? Thank you for reading....
