Little Blue Eyes I felt the extreme loneliness morning provided me with When my eyes opened to find you gone There's that empty space beside me my tears do fill And, immediately, life plays me it's heartache song... I face the day with an overwhelming battle I have Trying to escape the sadness inside But, somehow the long walk from room to empty room Leads me always there to your little blue eyes... I find such weakness of my own when I'm confronted with your face And, often I am down on my knees Praying, I do, for a little peace of mind Asking for one more chance for you to be with me... In your little blue eyes I can be numb to this world Yet at times I'm as gone as the night Yesterday and today I walked head held low Thinking endlessly of your little blue light... Baby Girl, I can cry but I can also laugh It's only in your eyes I feel this way I can take happy or sad when looking at you So, always I'm with you through each new day... I love how I find the greatest moments watching them How your laughter just lets them shine Oh, they smile on their own when you speak such words A treasured hour I call all mine... In your little blue eyes I see why I can live And, how you change rain to an even brighter sun I get lost for a while and I forget the pain I find solitude, My Baby, for in ways I've won... Sometimes all I have to hold onto until you come home Are the little blue eyes where I find some strength I just stare at the wood around your picture here Still on my knees from where I've been... I run many miles just to find you, sweet one Always a kinder, greater piece of you are found Just see that not always can I stand against the hardest winds Sometimes those little blue eyes of yours will find me down... I find light, I find love, I find my little Baby Girl I find love, I find hope, and laughter, too Oh, I find sorrow, I find tears, I find lonely years But, always, I find "us" in those little eyes of blue... The mornings...when reality comes crashing in The days...aware of only her absence The nights...struggle for a moments peace Little blue eyes...reason to go on Prayer...where to find the strength. |
