~*~ CANDLE OF THE SOUL ~*~

I watched a candle
Penetrate the darkness
Through the windows of my soul...
I felt the winds that
Threatened to extinguish
The graceful dance
Upon the wick of hope ~*~
Passionately kissing
The lips of chance ~*~
Embracing it's illusiveness
In the warmth of faith...
Absorbing it's breath of deliverance ~*~
Into the dying heartbeat of forgiveness...

The candle shimmered softly
In innocent elegance...
Illuminating the corners of the past
That were left behind ~ * ~ but not forgotten...
Haunting threads of pain
Glistening in cobwebs of fear and shame...
From corner to corner
Of the ceiling of regret ~*~

~*~ Revealing ~*~

A mysterious creation that
Hovers almost invisibly...
Waiting to trap and devour
Untainted emotions of trust and compassion...
Attempting to penetrate the forbidden
Passages of yesterday's secrets.

~*~ and teardrops fall relentlessly ~*~

As doorways to the soul are opened
By the Grace of God...

From this house of pain I walk
Towards the majestic ballet of graceful light
Shimmering carelessly upon the wick of life's promises...
Shadows of inspiration dance upon the walls of
Time.....
And the warmth of this tiny drop of radiance
Elates my spirit ~*~
And awakens sleeping dreams
That had forgotten how to fly...

Dancing within the golden hues of inspiration
Free at last from the cobwebs of misery...
Beside the candle of my soul ~*~
The windows of life are opened
Beckoning the breezes of the seas of destiny
To breathe life into this sinking vessel...
And fill the darkness with serene reflections
Of the face of the silver moon...
And the eyes of the stars that are
Always watching...
Always dancing...
Always shining...
From a beautiful place that awaits so patiently to embrace us.

~*~ ...AND, YES... ~*~

I lit the candle
That penetrated the darkness
Through the windows of my soul...
Desiring to feel the winds that
Brushed gently across my face...
That gracefully danced
Upon the wick of hope ~*~
Passionately kissing
The lips of chance ~*~
Embracing it's illusiveness
In the warmth of faith…
Absorbing it's breath of deliverance ~*~
Into the dying heartbeat of forgiveness

~*~ ...the candle of the soul...is eternal...~*~
...the candle of the soul...is calling......
...can you hear the whispers of the flames of destiny.....
...it beckons you to the realms of your dreams..............

~*~ EMBRACE IT, DANCE BESIDE IT, AND KEEP THE CANDLE BURNING ~*~

All of this in a flickering candle flame . . . only in a poet's soul.
I enjoyed this, Martha. Thank you.

Dear Martha that was simply beautiful like your soul that is the candlelight to find a lot of us our way! This is yet another one of yours I have printed so one day my Granddaughter will see what wonderful people her Gramma once knew and loved.

Your lights shines for all to see!

Love,
Sharon

p.s. I can't get in to edit your poem and put a pretty picture but really you don't need one your words paint a masterpiece.

Thank you all so much for your support and gracious words on my poems.
Mysteria..you are the best, my angel friend. I have been limited in my time tonight...Casey's 6th birthday is tomorrow, and my computer decided to declare war on my patience with it's usual antics...however, I prevailed! ~*~smiles~*~
If I have missed thanking anyone, please convey to them I have not overlooked them...and I do intend to spend quite a bit of time here on Saturday..Casey's birthday party on Friday, so I will be away.

Love you, Mysteria, and please pass my message along that this site is beautiful, I love it...and I will be making a complete and total transition from the other place to this place very soon!
Blessings and smiles to you, Martha

Martha Honey...you just did tell everyone! You see by posting on your own poem you are telling the "whole wide world"! No more emails unless you wish to say something privately that the others should not share in. You are just too cute you know that! He he...have a nice time until Saturday x o

Martha~
This is just so very spiritually heartfelt.

'I lit the candle
That penetrated the darkness'

I also am a candle-lighter
that others may come and share in the light.

Thank you for this gift of your thoughts to carry me into this day.
*Hugs*
