I stand upon the mountain
raise my voice for all to hear
I’m in love with a wonderful man
who doesn’t know I’m here

I sing a song of lonely repine
sadness mixed with hope
and watch to see if my beloved
dares climb this rocky slope

With a melody and chorus chant
in soprano voice I sing my plea
that if he hears this singer’s voice
he will climb to me.

Well expressed with wonderful flow, Sharon! It seems that I too, have been standing upon that same mountain calling for "the one" to climb to me, but, me thinks that I'm just slipping off It's good to see that you are filled with hope, never lose that! *and Melissa crosses her fingers, I hope he hears your plea soon*

Take care,
Melissa~

I hear the guitar strumming and a voice just as clear as if it were an angel singing. I just loved this positive, hope-filled poem. Thank you for sharing this today. Kate

Thank you ladies...I tried to 'sing' it as I wrote it....

and if you could teach me some witches spell
I'd make him like me very well
but if I did, I would surely dwell
in the depths of poetic hell!

How could his heart not hear such a beautiful and charming song? This took my breath away, thank you!
Smiles to you, and my wishes that your day is fantabulous!

Well ... it has a melancholy melodic flavor~
I think it'll do quite nicely.

I also thought of yodeling and of Heidi !
Now 'heidi' yourself down off that mountain
and make the pursuit easier !

Thank you all again for the kind words.

And Marge, if it was easy, then I wouldn't want him..does that make sense??? I don't want a man that comes when I snap my fingers. I want a man who will climb that mountain (emotionally speaking) and build a camp in my heart..........

I don't blame you, it may not be easy but remember something....

a woman deserves the best, don't stand in line for anybody!!!!

only at the grocery store, and event then....it's not always worth it!

Loved this.

Your flow was great, your message tender and romantic, and longing. I love this piece!

(as well as your comments)...put that one into a poem as well!!
