Here in Yellow

The days are vague with alcohol and uncertainty
Standing here with everywhere a possibility
Spinning, I should be making decisions…
But I like it here in yellow
The light is soft, diffused and kind
No questions asked, there is no risk
Of answers I won’t like.
The nights are restless with memory and desire
Lying here with nowhere else an option
Momentarily, I rest in indecision…
Because it’s better here in gray
The air is cool, safe and forgiving
Eyes against the darkness, I don’t have to see
If you’re leaving.
The life is crowded with words and misunderstanding
Sitting here I write more of the same
Regrettably, I do not have much courage
There is comfort in the blue…
Time moves, removes my thought and pain
Love is easier to hold, just out of arms reach
Until I’m certain it will stay.

Listening to every heart

JLR....a very melancholy read....haunting in aspect, taunting me to not give up ever on hope, and an underlying courage....I know this is only my interpretation, but it is what you've given me, and I thank you for that....

I like all the implications of this write...it can go several places and I've been to many of them...I'd like a double with that lost lover please...the blue of this print was easy on my eyes and I could take it too....oh that courage where does it go at the time?.....love...such tricky stuff! For breakfast I'll take a heart over easy please.... wonderful write!!

There is a certain peacefulness that we find when we write. No matter what we're going through. Distance and time will heal your heart. Well written thoughts!

A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes.

sometimes, you have to enter the white of it all, and see it as it is. . .

Thank you all for such thoughtful responses. I truly appreciate all your comments. Not quite sure I'm ready for the white, Sven, but soon...very soon. Thanks again!

Reclining into nothingness does have
its particular appeal some even make
a lifesport of choosing not to reveal
themselves to themselves a metaphysical bath

in body suit defined completely unrevealing
ok class all together "we hate sunshine
we hate bright we despise the sun
and all things which might bring light"

Now that everyone is feeling better take
your crayons and color in the world yes
eating them is fine even the green ones ok
what's the last rule "vodka always last"

Very good color your worlds...

RJ I think I ate my yellow crayon, tasted funny like hard boiled lemonade
