Emergence -dedicated to Mysteria
Virginia Salter

enshrouded
with layers of pain
mistrust
agony
as if deep within a dark, dark well
that’d been sealed

yet
somehow
something
of Someone
began to tear at the layer
upon layer
allowing tiny rays of light
to seep into
her chamber

each ray
building her strength
that she began
tearing from within
layer upon layer
peeled away
as she emerged
one wing at a time
then, in the sunlight
drying
to a flight of new life

Thanks, Tony! Geesh! I just saw another mistake, a typo this time. 'of Someone' should read 'or Someone.' Maybe I should have remained speechless. :O\

Vas, this is beautiful, very touching!

A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes.

Well you don't know me yet do you? I am never speechless! lol Well, I have to tell you that your comment via a complete poem of compassion is harder for someone like me to take than being mistreated, believe it or not. You see when you loose your esteem, all the words and flowers in the world don't make you feel worthwhile. I notice the icon you used was a dove, which is my favorite symbol, as they stand for hope and peace in my mind. You have taken a weary soul today and put a lighth in my heart, and sent some hope and peace to my soul. I thank you so very much for doing this. True compassion is the caring for a stranger and that is what you did today. There is a poem on the board today by PrincessPout called compassion, and beside it should be your picture! A big ole hug and mooshie kiss on the cheek for ya! Thank you so much.
