Between a laugh and a tear...

Soul Sisters

Together they fly, wing to wing
Soaring to the stars, basking in lunar glow
Of love and freedom their song they sing
Sharing glimpses of life's ebb and flow

That gentle lullaby filled with sweet regret
Leaves only love filled memories and smiles
An angel's insight imparted in style so eloquent
Thoughts given freely so we might reflect awhile

Sweet refrain drifts tranquil veil across our hearts
As a soothing breeze across the Island shoals
Butterflies dancing in the wind, love they do impart
Defining their destiny, these Sisters of the soul

Eagle this is such a wonderful gesture by you and I am very flattered, honored and touched.
Your wings are showing in this as well...
thank you so much for this gift from your talented poets pen ...
Gifts of poetry are a treasure of the heart and this one is special because it embraces
a friendship discovered thru poetry here in this special place....
Holly and I found each other in the words of one anothers poetry ...
and like so many here... we bonded in the sharing of our words.
and I know you understand.
thank you sweet poet sir very much.

eagleone--

i am so glad you wrote this--was
thinking about this the other day,
not necessarily about jan and holly
(though they both hold a very special
place in my heart)...but i was thinking
about how such beautiful bonds and
friendships are formed thru the words
of poetry and the sharing of our hearts
and souls. this is just so beautiful--
brought tears to my eyes. can't think of
anything more to say here...i just know
they both will treasure this with all
their hearts! lovely writing sir...

take care
amy

Having a close bond with a sister is something to be cherished. The way you wrote of it is moving. To be a sister, love a sister and know they love you back is a gift for the heart and yes, the soul. I have a "soul sister" she lives in Maryland and I've never met her but I will soon. Thank you for another touching poem for my library.

M E ~ I like to think it is their own words that highlight their beauty to us. Thank you!

Paula ~ I've been shown that we are all angels, just that some of us are yet to learn to fly!

Kit ~ Always special to have you drop by. And yes they are wonderful and beautiful people, thank you.

Janet ~ Thank you my fellow poet, 'tis I who thanks you for helping us all to see it's possible to fly. Take care!

...mmm.....having a blonde moment?

Amy ~ I think bonds formed through the sharing of the heart and soul tend be everlasting. I thank you for your wonderful comments my friend.

Kathleen ~ I'm glad that you have felt this kind of bond, it is very special indeed. To be in your library is an honour, thank you!

Butterflies ~ The beauty is in the friendship that you and Janet have discovered my friend. Truly that is a beautiful thing. Take care!

I was all set with lavish praise... and then saw that comment about having a blonde moment. *G* Ahem!!!! LOL

Seriously... you've written a lovely tribute to a couple of ladies who've enriched these blue pages beyond measure... the bond they share is even more beautiful than their butterfly wings. *S*
