Raku Elemental

in the heat of your hearth,
the search for a perfect form,
a perfect pot

……………… a pot is still pot
though fired copper and lapis

reduced to more
until smoke marries air
by sage and lemon grass

………………to hold rice
or water or night debris

flames thrust wet
to cool
or shatter along lines you laid

…………………and a verse
is still only a verse

unless hidden
protected
from the prying breeze

………………to hold words
or discarded metaphor

until held
in the hollow of your hand
perfect imperfection

…………………in your hunt
to quench the fire

*

Raku is a way of firing pottery.

I have been experimenting with threaded or intertwined poems, likely not a new idea, but seldom seen.  I am looking for a name so someday I may be a very minor footnote in poetry history.  Currently I've settled on twining, but think there must be a better.

But I like this its very different to what I have already seen. Good work.

Don't ever give in, if you do you've lost everything you've ever had and everything you hope to gain, but if you carry on your already winning.

I applaud your experimentation
The format of a poem is just that though.

Perhaps you can devise a format as original as it is popular to use and read.

I think that the Internet's capability of poetic interaction has done a great service to revivifying poetry as a living art.

I hope you find your mark.

Compliments

~"reduced to more",...indeed! Enjoying this and the way that it was written. *Peace.

Gary~
Two lovely pieces woven together -
Very, very nicely done.

I rather like the idea of Lattice as a name for your experimentation.
The interwoven framework that holds the two structured pieces together ... appeals to me.

I enjoyed this tremendously.

Marge, lattice might work. It also then leads to web and related variations. For now I'm going to stick to twining or threaded. I suspect someone will hit on something much more exotic than I ever could.

Twining may not stay, simply because I am working on a piece with 3 threaded together.

AT, form can help a work. I tend to be visual vice aural, so I look for shape often.

Moon, spitfire, sunshine and Paula. Thanks loads.

Gary
