Walk in my Bower

I often walk the edge of my bower
Some would call it my ivory tower.
I circle inspect and never neglect
Paradise, that took me years to perfect.

It is here I write my sonnets of love
And send them air born on a snow-white dove.
The meter worded in musical verse
As supple and soft as velvet purse.

They are lullabies set to perfect rhyme
And sent via dove at a perfect time.
They are words that turn to butterfly wings
When placed in the mind, they begin to sing.

They’re notions of love that lap on the shore
Promising Eden that women adore
But it’s not my aim to claim them as mine
Only to please them, build them a shrine.

Their love will find them all in good grace
In the proper time, in the proper place.

'Tis I who wishes to build the shrine
an alter to worship your rhyme divine
a pedestal to raise up your verse of gold
a throne to place upon your wisdom to behold

all this to give thanks for your glorious lullabies
for thy song tis the wind beneath wings of butterflies

Some find subtlety in strangers
some find subtlety alone
Your eyes,you see everything
my eyes,I see its all together now
and I know.

Yes, sweet warm stuff here. A hot chocolate with some lovely whipped cream topping.

...and that is the essence of true love, isn't it? Not a desire to claim, but to build up and allow them to be and experience all that life has for them. This is so very lovely, Sy!
