***this shall be my last post about Laura--most
of you know we were very close and then suddenly
no longer were together--to those of you who
have no clue what i'm talking about, i still
hope you enjoy this poem or at least get something
out of it. thank you in advance for reading.

"Letting You Go"

letting you go
was one of the hardest things i've ever had to do
i never thought we'd part
always thought i'd be with you

lies and games though took their toll
our lives were changed forever
so now i sadly let you go
no longer are we together

always you shall hold a place in my heart
though things are different now in many ways
i still will think of you from time to time
i wish you nothing but love and happiness to fill your days

you were the one true love of my life
everything i ever said to you was true
you just didnt ever realize how much i loved you
seriously don't think you ever had a clue

some days i think of you and smile
others i think of you and cry
if i ever said i dont miss you
that would be a bold faced lie

but things are better this way
sometimes things just aren't meant to be
and we have to find a way
to set the other person free

so fly butterfly
i hope you reach the sky
never look back with regrets
do not cry

i released you a while ago
but today i just wanted to let you know
as your lover and best friend
i completely let you go

Well I am sure there are many have had to release a loved one, and not knowing the story did not take away from your wonderful presentation, an excellent poem and a fond farewell too.

Amy,

Oh, this was so tender and honest. It is never easy to let them go, but we have to in order to move on. You'll find another love. I know you will. Someone as sweet as you won't be alone for long. This was wonderful writing my friend. Keep it up and you will heal in no time. ((((HUG)))).

Hi, Amy. Your poem feels so genuine to read, it is surely a song of truth. Thanks for sharing such a personal and beautiful piece of writing.

with time and release comes healing for you both.
All we can do is try to draw from what we learned about ourselves and hope to grow stronger in the losses...
you two made many self discoveries and showed much courage ...
you continue to do so with this.
