Am I so Beautiful? Have you found such beauty in my face That turned your weary eyes so calm and warm And lips to pleasure’s soft suggestive trace As you study the demeanor of my form ? Am I all that endearing to your heart That glistening eyes would gaze with such intent And savor every single little part That makes a weathered spirit so content? Why do I see a teardrop in your eye? Why do you bow your head with solemn grace? Do I remind you of the days gone by As you gaze again into my lovely face? It seems I’ve opened up a painful wound Or maybe these are tears of joy I see You hold me near, again your eyes consume The body and the very heart of me How blessed I am that you have found me here And I have reached into the depths of you And wrapped you in my arms and calmed your fears In knowing someone else felt just as you It’s strange how I affect you in these ways I’m just a verse of sweet poetic phrase Elizabeth Santos |
