Cyberlove

I see so many people searching of late
Surfing cyberspace to find them a mate
Sadness and longing spurs on their quest
Compassion and kindness, their only request

There's so many players it's hard to tell
All of them trying themselves to sell
Saying the words, just playing the parts
Lying and preying on twice-broken hearts

Innocent victims, they are led by sweet hope
Not understanding the full depth nor the scope
Just faceless people with souls opened wide
Bearing their feelings, not one do they hide

Hoping that somehow true love will appear
Whisk them away from all sadness and fear
Capture the rainbow that follows the rain
But sadly often they're left with more pain

I'm so grateful darling, that our love is real
The emotions we share, and closeness we feel
Yet I still feel great sadness for all those alone
Praying that one day true love finds their home

I compliment you. You've captured this very well. It's dangerous, it's not quite real. I know that it has worked before, that it does work out for people sometimes and I'm truly happy for them, but it's dangerous......
You've described it well.

Well done! I think you find lonely people, whether it's here on the Internet or in a singles bar or a singles club, searching for true love - putting themselve out there - opening up for hurt and pain - being used by the 'users'.....but even on the Internet, it can happen that you find true love.

brian-

this is a wonderful poem you have
penned here. and a very true one at
that...cyber love can hurt just as much
as real love i think--if not more...cuz
the letdown in the end can be im sure
quite harsh! but as they say love can
be found anywhere--even on the 'net.
just gotta be really careful with who
you are dealing with!

take care.

Excellent poem, first off.
Now I'd like to mention something about meeting people online.
I don't think that having an online relationship is easy by any means, especially if there is distance involved. But I ~do~ strongly believe that it is the best way to meet people. Why? Simply because the first thing that you can know about someone here is their words and thoughts. Anywhere else, the first thing that you know about someone is their appearance.
Pure thoughts, and pure love of thoughts and feelings. That makes the internet the best way to meet people, IMHO.
Just something to think about.
