I gaze across the horizon
the sunshine warms my face,
my mind slowly drifts away
to another time, another place.

We walked along softly talking,
laughing, and holding hands.
Your eyes searched into my soul
while I feel deeper into a trance.

With you I felt so many things
that I had never felt before,
there were so many mixed emotions
and still, there was so much more.

You showed me how to trust,
how to take, and not just give.
You taught me the realities of love,
while my spirit learned to live.

These gifts I hold here in my heart,
and in my heart they shall always stay.
Today I contemplate about tomorrow,
in quiet rememberance of yesterday.

Vas, thank you. My name was derived at the suggestion of another poet here at passions who I have had the pleasure of meeting long before I ever came to passions. It sortah just felt right although some days I don't feel so gentle. lol. Thanks.

Cerenity, thanks so much for stopping in.

Wynter, the emotions can take us on trips, (some we don't even want to
go on) thanks .

I really like this ending!

Great work!

These gifts I hold here in my heart,
and in my heart they shall always stay.
Today I contemplate about tomorrow,
in quiet rememberance of yesterday.

"How to take and not just give.." Loved this line, imagine a lover teaching one how to take and not just give. The thought alone makes me shiver. Wonderful writing. Kate
