I finally recognize
my song
A replay
of a sorrowful need to be loved
by one who
forces me to be one of many
to share his heart,
his body,
or his love

My relentless need
to be enough
that they would only need me
want me
chose me

And yet the ending
always plays the same
broken heart

And I do believe
it's now time
to write a new song

"Some people see the cup as half empty. Some people see the cup as half full. I see the cup as too large."

~George Carlin~

Yep, a New Song...exactly the book I'm almost finished reading, Kellie. Book five of the Mitford series. Have you heard if another one is coming out? In fact, I think I'll get off here for awhile and get some more read. I want to find out how Dooley fares in his trial/arraignment.

And yes, it is likely time for a New Song, the best to you in your attainment of a melody and lyrics JUST FOR YOU!

This poem really struck a chord in me...."My relentless need to be enough that they would only need me want me chose me"...I know how that feels.
I hope your next song has a happy melody : )

This poem wonderfully describes the place we all need to arrive at (those of us in that position), the self realization for change, and that it takes courage...sometimes comes after playing that same song over and over again. You described so well the need to be loved, and the pitfall of loving too much...losing the sense of self.

VAS - I'm so thrilled you're reading that series! You're actually ahead of me.......I've only read the first 3, so don't tell me what happens! Thank you for your comments!

sans38 - Thank you. Am insistant my next song is going to have a much happier ending.

Jellybean King - You understood completely. THANK YOU! A very kind comment. Your name tickles me. I have jars of jellybeans all over my house, never eat them, but I love all the colors!

Dreamkeeper - a new song that you seek, you will find. Anyone that writes like you has much to share, with words and caring. Write on dreamkeeper, write on with those most beautiful words.

indeed it is time to write a new song. . . in a new key. . . and with new words. . . you've already begun. . .
